Abstract     Acute coronary syndrome includes unstable angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction and sudden death due to ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation. Rapid diagnosis and immediate intervention are the most important and can alter clinical outcome. They can be initiated at emergency department. The effectiveness of reassurance, patient information and looking after patient in a controlled environment by skilled nurse is also an important aspect of pain relief. As percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty is a succesful method for recanalisation of coronary artery, patient can be sent to the catheter laboratory eihter directly from emergency unit or from intensive care unit. The role of nurse in intensive care unit at preparation and transport of the patient to catheter laboratory is presened.
