Abstract		Many plant secondary metabolites are used as drugs, flavors; fragrances, insecticides or dyes, as well as nutraceutcals. Plant cell cultures offer an attractive alternative to classical in vivo grown plants. New possibilities are also open by organ cultures as well as metabolic engineering.
