Abstract		Fibre-optic bronchoscopy in adults is a common procedure in clinical respiratory practice. Under controlled conditions it is a safe procedure, associated with very few adverse events. The purpose of the present position papre, which is based on the results of Slovene and foreign studies, is to unify the criteria for several aspects of endoscopic practice. The current guidelines were created by a group of bronchoscopists, microbiologists, pathologists, intensivists, thoracic surgeons and nurses. They include recommendations regarding indications, contraindications, required prebronchoscopic studies, indications for premedication, bronchoscopy in intensive care units, cleaning of bronchoscopes and bioptic instruments, training of bronchoscopists, patient and personnel care and standards for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Summary		Bronhoskopija z upogljivim bronhoskopom pri odraslih je varna in enostavna preiskava. V diagnostiki pljučnih bolezni se pogosto uporablja. Zapleti preiskave so redki. Smernice, ki so pred vami, so zasnovane na dognanjih domačih in tujih strokovnjakov. Napisane so z namenom, da bi poenotili obravnavo bolnikov v vseh enotah, kjer opravljajo bronhoskopijo pri odraslih. Pri oblikovanju smernic so sodelovali respiratorni endoskopisti, mikrobiologi, patologi, zdravniki na intenzivnem oddelku, torakalni kirurgi in sestre, ki delujejo v endoskopskih enotah. Smernice vsebujejo: indikacije in kontraindikacije za preiskavo, postopke in preiskave pred, med in po posegu, bronhoskopijo v enotah intenzivne terapije, standarde za diagnostične in terapevtske posege ter skrb za bolnika in osebje.
