Abstract		The scope of diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy has been constantly extended, and specialists concerned with the treatment of lung diseases must keep abreast of all aspects of modern bronchoscopy. The flexible edoscope is considered the instrument of choice for diagnostic and, in some cases, therapeutic bronchoscopy, and has almost entirely replaced the rigid instrument. At present, the use of open-tube bronchoscopes is limited and remains confined to specific, highly selected cases. It is associated with a higher rate of complications, requires special equipment and should be performed under general anesthesia. Yet, the rigid endoscope remains an indispensable tool in some clinical situations, and surgeons should be familiar with its advantages. The paper presents the indications for flexible and rigid bronchoscopy used at the Ljubljana Department of Thoracic Surgery.
Summary		V diagnostiki in zdravljenju pljučnih bolezni se bronhoskopija vse pogosteje uporablja. Bronhoskopija z upogljivim instrumentom je skoraj popolnoma izpodrinila bronhoskopijo s togim bronhoskopom. Kljub temu pa so togi bronhoskopi nenadomestljivi za določene, sicer omejene indikacije. Zapletov po togi bronhoskopiji je več, zahtevajo tudi splošno anestezijo in posebno opremo v endoskopirnici. V prispevku sem prikazal v katerih primerih na oddelku za torakalno kirurgijo uporabljamo bronhoskopijo z obema vrstama inštrumentov.
