Abstract | The odometry method for mobile robots by one additional measurement wheel is presented in the article. The measurement system consists of absolute encoder for steering angle measurement, special relative optical encoder, based on reflection principle, for traveled distance measurement and vertical motion system which enables smooth traversal over uneven floor. Two sit- . uations are considered: the one in which we treat the measurement wheels as being aligned with the path and the one in which the process of alignment is yet to be taken into account. | |
