Abstract     Significant others of suicide victims were offered to fill in a form evaluating a support program, in which they had participated, and assessing their psychosocial situation. A comparatively large part (71%) answered, and 70% of those with close relationships turned up for an interview. Mood or substance use disorders were most common among the suicide victims, who mostly had presented suicidal communication either before the suicide or as a fare-well letter. Most of the survivors, but children, were satisfied with the program. Children also appeared to feel worse than others. Therefore, one of our conclusions is that a special attention needs to be taken to children of suicide victims.
