Abstract | Admission of the patient with acute pancreatitis to the ICU can be suggested for any patient with three or more Ransons signs within the first 48 hours and/or 8 or more APACHE II points, those who need hemodynamic monitoring, large volume resuscitation, or ventilatory support, or those with metabolic imbalance, renal insufficiency, cardiovascular collapse and sepsis with multiple organ failure (MOF). The overall therapeutic principles for acute pancreatitis include all measurements for normalization of numerous and concomitant complications. | |
