Abstract		Selecting patients with pancreatic tumors for curative surgery depends upon various pre, intra and postoperative diagnostic methods including pathomorphological examination of tissue specimens. Microscopic analysis of the selected tissue detects characteristic features that enable to localize, classify, graduate and stage the tumor. Histopathological grades of pancreatic malignant tumors independ ently influence prognosis and selection of the most adequate treatment. Cellular and structural differentiation, mitoses and nuclear atypia included in histopathological grading, type of growth and tumorous infiltration of regional as well as distant lymphnodes and other organs have a significant predictive value correlat ing with survival.
