Abstract     Thermotherapy and mechanotherapy are frequently used for rehabilitation of human locomotor system in physical therapy units. The use of heat, electricity and mechanical power makes tissues and organs in disorder restore their function in order to ease pains and relieve muscular tension. By applying human and mechanical energy we exert an influence on local and general metabolism of tissues and a body as a whole, on the improved mobility of joints and a spine, on general mobility and wellness. Mobility of joints is very important for doing many important life functions. When prescribing a therapy, we have to pay attention to many contraindications. It is also necessary to take into account the number of all the prescribed therapies in a certain time period.
