Abstract     Sudeck's syndrome - in Slovenian medical jargon simply "Sudeck", and officially a complex regional pain syndrome (named so since 1994) - is usually heard to denote a rather frequent painful complication after surgery or injury. The diagnosis is primarily based on the clinical signs and symptoms. The most outstanding symptom is severe, long-lasting pain, preventing mobility as well as a function of the involved limb. In the physical and rehabilitation medicine the approach should be integral, by team, and individual; physical methods are used in treatment of pain, oedema and limited mobility. If necessary, also an anaesthesiologist, a psychologist or a psychiatrist are included in the team treating the patient. His cooperation remains, however, the most important part of the treatment.
