Abstract     This section comprises topics from molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics. High throughput techniques of molecular biology, such as DNA microarrays and Biacore, will be described. Unsolved biophysical questions related to protein folding will be highlighted. Basic processes, such as apoptosis and signal transduction will be introduced. Progress in the field of the conformational (misfolding) diseases will also be described, as an example of an interplay of biochemical, neurophysiological, molecular and cellular biology research.
