Abstract		An implanted programmable pump enables chronic intrathecal infusion of baclofen (Lioresal) in treatment of severe spasticity of spinal or cerebral origin. Implantation of the pump is indicated in patients with severe multisegmental spasticity not responding to physical therapy and oral drug treatment. The programme of intrathecal drug treatment by an implantable infusion system was introduced in Institute for Rehabilitation, Republic of Slovenia in collaboration with the Clinical Department for Neurosurgery, Clinical Center, Ljubljana.
