Abstract     Purpose: To present an excellent early result, based upon conservative treatment of the bimalleolar dislocated ankle fracture. Type: Case report Methods: To present clinical results, we re-examined a patient with ankle joint fracture after 18 months of undergoing conservative treatment. Surveys of the ankle joint circumference, motion, and X rays were made. Clinical results were evaluated upon Olerud Molanderu and AOFAS scoring system. Results: The patient had no complications. X rays showed overgrowth of the fracture in an unsuitable position, without any signs of arthrosis. At first the ankle joints looked identical, with complete motion. The results were excellent, according to both scoring systems. Conclusion: Early results were extremly good, in spite of uncommon (unsuitable) manner of treatment. For final value, a longer time period of observation would be necessary.
