Abstract     The fractures of the talus are uncommon but very important because of high possibility of complication and posttraumatic disabilities. The most common fractures are neck fractures which are treated by open reduction and internal fixation in case of displacement. The suitable rehabilitation is useful but still not precisly evaluated. The rehabilitation includes some simple and common physical therappy as cryotherapy, elevation and compression, more sofisticated therapy as magnetotherapy an hypobaric therapy and individually programmed kinesiotherapy based on proprioception training, range of motion and muscle strenghtening exercises. Hydrotherapy (the pool) has got a very important role because of possibility of early partial weight bearing and active-assistive exercising. The part of education and training on how to use crutches and other techical remedies is essential in complex approach to patient with walking disabilities. The occupational therapist is participating in the rehabiliation of those paients in our General hospital as he or she could also manage partly the functional rehabilitation treatment.
