Abstract		The article performs the use of complementary and alternative therapies in nursing care to promote health of mothers and children. The purpose of text is to stimulate thinking at nurses and nurse students about using methods and combine them with some principles and philosophy already used in nursing. Most common complementary methods are noninvasive and nonintrusive during pregnancy and breastfeeding. So many women chose to take them. The overview of care in nursing is described. Some cases of using complementnry and alternative methods after childbirth and with children during hospitalisation are shown.
