Abstract     The slalom racing technique had to adapt to geometry changes in skis that took place in the last few years. In the article the main characteristics of modern competiive slalom techniques are presented from biomechanical point of view. The imdings were confirmed with kinematic measurements of the top Slovenian slalom racers that are also at the top of the World Cup. The most radical changes have occured in the controlling (steenng) of skis, in upper body rotation which is no longer at right angle to the fall line, in the phase of the weight transfer, and in the increased leaning into the turn.
