Abstract		Nutrition has a very special role in the first five years of child's development. Intensive growth and development demand proper quantities and nutrients, otherwise it can be harmful. Intake of probiotics is recommended as they stimulate development of intestinal flora. Importance of proper choice of adequate substitute milk, in case of insufficient breast feeding. In case of its consuming, child š needs and content of substitute milk have to be considered. The paper gives an accent on important role of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
