Abstract		We prepared aqueous and three organic extracts of the common freshwater sponge Spongilla lacustris, and tested them for the possible presence of bioactive compounds. Hemolytic, antibacterial, hemagglutination, and anticholinesterase activity of the concentrated extracts was monitored. Although no considerable biological activity was detected, our study presents the first monitoring of bioactive compounds in Spongilla lacustris, and one of a few that have been performed on freshwater sponges.
Summary		Pripravili smo vodni in tri organske ekstrakte navadne sladkovodne spužve Spongilla lacustris in testirali prisotnost biološko aktivnih molekul. Uporabili smo hemolitični, protibakterijski, hemaglutinacijski in protiholinesterazni test. Čeprav v koncentriranih ekstraktih nismo zasledili nobene pomembnejše aktivnosti, predstavlja ta študija prvo tovrstno testiranje vrste Spongilla lacustris, ter eno redkih raziskav na področju proučevanja biološko aktivnih snovi v sladkovodnih spužvah.
