Abstract		The key problem of personnel scheduling in a hospital is daily establishment of shifts for every employee. Personnel scheduling in a time period must satisfy requirements of hospital, as also general requirements in health care. The software prototype for planning and monitoring of workload was developed on the base of co-operation befween Hospital Golnik and Faculty of organizational sciences. In the beginning of the project a formal analysis of the problem was carried out, on the base of which the structure of the database was defined. Stored procedures were implemented in Oracle database. An ušer friendly graphical user interface in Microsoft Access was developed, which enables personnel scheduling and monitoring of workload.
