Abstract     Longlasting misuse and overuse of the vocal folds leads to the development of nodules, polyps or cysts: Those growths have negative influence on the functional and acoustical characteristics of the voice. The precize microphonosurgical treatment by means of which the removal of the growts is acheived leads to significant improvemnt of patients vocal quality. In the present paper the voice of 10 male and f0 female patients with the one vocal fold polyp who were treated in the Phoniatric Policlinic "Sestre milosrdnice" in Zagreb by the medial microflap phonomicrosurgery with the cold instruments was investigated. The relations between some clinical, acoustical (maesured by means of the MDVP program) and perceptive variables (assessed by group of phoneticians) before and after surgery were investigated. The results showed significant improvement of the voice quality after the surgery regardless the clinical status of the vocal folds before surgery.
