Abstract     Stress plays a great role in the occurrence of many diseases, including voice disorders. The purpose of the study was to establish the prevalence of hoarseness in teachers and its eventual correlation with stress. 39 teachers teaching at the elementary school completed the questionnaires on voice disorders and on stress. 87% of them reported having voice problems during their teaching careers, 59% in the last year and 28% in the last month. 33% of the teachers participating in this survey experience high stress, 49% moderate and 18% lowstress. Among the participants who had voice problems in the last year, there were more numerous those who experience high stress. The results of the survey confirmed the hypothesis that more attention should be payed to the voice care in teachers, including the education about stress, its danger and fight against it.
