Abstract     Children and adolescents with speech and language problems cannot easily make contact with people. For them communication represents an obstacle that, not only makes integration into society extremely difficult or even impossible, but also hampers their persone development as a whole. Besides verbal communication they are not able to communicate non-verbally due to their motor problems. Therefore, they cannot make any real contact with the environment. They cannot attract someone s attention, cannot say what they want or not want, and cannot express their feelings. Children with motor and speech problems are not able to gain the life experience that healthy children acquire spontaneously.Such disorders are typically the consequence a of a central nervous system defect due to injuries or brain diseases in the period before or after the development of communication. For this reason the members of the project group for Slovenia modifed the programme "Boardmaker with Speaking Dynamically Pro" (2j for PC for use by younger primary school children during the last school year. Finally some AAC users who attend the Centre for Education and Rehabilitation of Children and Adolescents in Kamnik Slovenia are presented.
