Abstract     Background: Placement of an endotracheal tube results in injury to laryngeal and tracheal tissue. Laryngeal stenosis is a result of wound healing processes that may lead to irreversible scarring that replaces normal tissue. Case description: A case of postintubation laryngeal stenosis in a female born in 1983 who was intubated for five days because of epileptic status is described. After the diagnosis she had been anaesthetised for 61 times within 4 years because of the respiratory distress and the surgical treatment of the stenosis. Conclusion: We would like to contribute our part to the anaesthetic experience in patients with laryngeal stenosis and to remind of the postintubation complications. It is important to use the prevention steps.
