Abstract		At the Festival for the 3rd Period of Life 20 old age homes presented themselves, the theme of their occupational therapy activities being the conservation of cultural heritage. The purpose of the festival was achieved in the true sense of the word. The results of the questionnaire showed that this is a component part of all home activities. Occupational therapists are aware of its significance for the residents and therewith indirectly for the society as a whole. If we lend our ear to what the elderly have to say, we cannot ignore the fact that the conservation and transferring of the cultural heritage to the younger generation is one of their fundamental tasks. Occupational therapists play an important part in it. With the right attitude and expert knowledge they can build a bridge between generations.
