Abstract     A 40 years old man fell down on his stomach from one meter height. Because of modest stomach pain he visited his general practitioner who gave him analgetic injection. Next day the pain became so serious that he was taken to surgery department and was operated because of evident clinical signs of peritonitis immediately. After the operation he was transferred to intensive care unit. In spite of intensive therapy and more surgical interventions he died because of sepsis seven days after the injury. The aim of this contribution is to show the problem and importance of early diagnosis and proper surgical therapy of bowel injury caused by blunt injury. Only in that way we can minimize postoperative morbidity and mortality.
