Abstract     Forty-two years old female patient was admitted to the hospital due to dyspnea. Therapy for pulmonary embolism was initiated. On the fifth day she suddenly complained about crushing chest pain, accompanied by ECG signs of acute myocardial infarction of the anterior left ventricularwall. Urgent coronary angiography revealed normal coronary anatomy; however serial ECG tracings and a rise in serum troponin were suggesting myocardial infarction: There were clinical and laboratory signs ofovert hyperthyrosis. We attributed the infarction to the transient disturbance of the coro-nary perfusion due to hyperthyrosis. We postulate that the mechanism behind this disturbance is a coronary vasospasm. The case is presented because it is very rare, yet calls for specific treatment.
