Abstract | Nursing care at patients with acute poisonings is in a high degree directed to ensuring their safety. The concern for safety of the staff, other patients and property can not be neglected as well, The problem of safety assurance is burning due to impaired consciousness which is presented very often and selfaggressive behaviour. Continous inspection of the patient should be ensured and in some cases the use of physical restraint is necessary. Verbal communications is required, although limited especially in acute situations. General conditions of safety assurance are adequate numbers of trained staff and appropriate clinical areas. | |
